non ac heater box.

ok so does anyone have any pics of the blend door set up for one? my door seems to have broke so i get no heat wormish but if you drive its cool. new core rad and water pump this weeked but still penty of flow. if you more the cable you dont hear the door at all and if you reach up there is no drag either. just want to know what i am up against for when i pull the box on sunday

Before you tear everything open, check for basic proper operation of the blend door by ear/feel.

Release the cable from the actuating arm and snap the arm back and forth. If the blend door is still tight to the shaft, you will get a dragging feeling as it moves, and also hear a "flop" sound at the end of each stroke. Plus, you won't be able to move the arm when the door hits the stops on the left/right ends.

Also, check for a good flow of coolant through the heater core by removing the radiator cap and looking down into the outlet tank. There should be a good steady flow of coolant coming into the tank from the heater hose connection (you might have to drop the level in the radiator a little to see this flow). This only works if your heater core return line goes to the radiator - not if it is piped to to the water pump.
