70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
Just what it says. We're a lot of these produced? I would have bought it regardless. Just cause it's a C/30. It's been used by farmers its whole life.
Thought it was kinda cool a farmer in the northeast would spring for a/c. |

Wow, surprised noones chimed in on this, usually these guys are a pack of lions when it comes to questions like these. As for me I have no clue, rarity isn't my thing I like base model stuff so I don't feel bad hackin it up to make it mine lol

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
My book shows 2,101 1970 CS31004 (1 ton) 9' Stepside pickups. To put into perspective, 234,904 1970 CS10934 ( 1/2 ton) 8' Fleetside pickups were produced. About the air, I'm guessing about 1/4 of those 1 tons were built with air in 1970, put someone might have the exact figure.

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
Its not unknown but most of the C30 stepsides were base model work trucks. Be interesting to see exactly what it is and how its equipped. While it is rare, if it is an original A/C C30 stepside CS31004 or CE313004, its not necessarily all that valuable. Here is one I have been trying to find the owner of.

Thanks for the info. I realize it probably isnt fri/sat night barrett jackson material. Owned alot of half tons and blazers. This is the first 1 ton. Also first with a/c. Just wish they would've sprung for a locker in the rear. Gotta out smart the computer and post up the spid.

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
Somebody special ordered that one! Built for serious hauling with comfort. I would definitely be interested in a C 30 equipped with those options. I assume the 396 option would automatically get you the 4.10 ratio in a C 30?

'tis a unique truck. 4.10 gears would be my guess without digging out my 70 engineering manual. Be easy to see this with a 31' Airstream Land Yacht in tow.

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
The '70 C/30 Pickups are all rare and select few would have comfort & convenience options, like yours. A mid-level trim Custom with A/C will hold a higher value than many other '69 trucks. It's a true collector piece, that's for sure.

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
Since the OP hasn't posted any more shots, I will continue to comment on the C 30 SS Tim posted. I love trucks like this, the "sleepers". Right away, most would make a judgement of a "Plain Jane" or a "Low Buck Truck" a low optioned longbed stepside with painted hubcaps and painted front bumper ( yes it originally came with a white painted front bumper-no V 37 chrome bumper option on the SPID ). Word to the wise, never leave any stone unturned.

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
Actually being a Z84 CST optioned truck the chromed front bumper was included and as such would not be listed on the SPID seperately.

Thanks for pointing that out SS Tim. Would the CST still come with painted hubcaps or was that changed out?

Re: 70 C/30 stepside custom with a/c how rare?
It would have had painted hub caps even with the CST unless chromed were also ordered. The P03 Chromed Hub Caps were first "included" with the YE9 Cheyenne Super's production release in mid 71. Prior to that they were optional on SRW models.
