Rear End question. 1974 12bolt into a 62 swb
I keep reading that the 70-71 12 bolt is 1.5 inches wider than the stock diff. I have a 74 truck that is my donor for the front suspension and would like to use the rear also to keep everything 5x5. Will it fit? Or is the 74 wider? I'm not to concerned with mounts and stuff. That stuff I can change. I'm not close to my parts truck to take a measurement right now and thought someone might know.
Thanks in advance. Aaron

The original HO32 differential under your '62 is 62" wide. The truck 12 bolts from '71-'82 are 63.5" wide. The truck 10 bolts from '80-'87 are also 63.5" wide.
