1969 Pontiac Acadian SS 396
Even as a Canadian I don't remember SS 396 Acadians, but it makes sense. There were SD 396 Beaumonts (note SD vs SS).
http://www.ebay.com/itm/131325321829...:SS:SS:US:3160 Not mine, just a curiosity. Though if it were closer to stock it'd make a nice companion for my black 1969 Pontiac 2+2 427!

Yep. And just like the Chevy ones, it has the Tonawanda Engine sticker.

Re: 1969 Pontiac Acadian SS 396
Long story short due to treaties and to save costs GM built its full size Pontiac line for Canada in the same plant as the Canadian Imapals. So ours got an Impala chassis & drivetrain, Pontiac dash in an otherwise Impala/Caprice/etc interior (but with Pontiac logos). And custom bodywork because the Impala is a fair bit shorter (and lighter) than the Bonneville.
So everything is badged as Pontiac, but clearly the same as Chevrolet in terms of mechanicals.

Re: 1969 Pontiac Acadian SS 396
I wish I had some of the Pontiac's that I had through the years. I only have one now. Oh well I had fun with all of them. Here is the only one I have now.

Re: 1969 Pontiac Acadian SS 396
Pontiacs were not really very popular but they were some awesome cars in the 60's and 70's.
That Acadia looks exactly like a Nova. Very nice and I like the 427 stuffed in there too!
