1989 Burb Tailgate Beltline Install

I have a new rubber strip to install on the interior panel on my 1989 Suburban Silverado that mounts on the fold down tailgate. The panel is plastic and the original strip was stapled to it.

Anyone had success installing a new one? Do trim shops have staple guns that can bend/crimp the ends of the staples? I have installed rubber to the inner wheel wells, but they are metal and less fragile than plastic if I try to manually bend the staple ends.
