Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

http://eastoregon.craigslist.org/cto/4729085046.html

Emailed the seller, their asking a little too much. $14k. I don't think he is going to get the type of trade he wants for it ether.

I want it. Too bad I can have it.

I think the price is fair for it's condition and mileage. Your area might be different.

Re: Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

That's my ad and I wasn't asking for $14k, but since NADA doesn't value the custom campers or motorhomes, the pickup value is the only thing to value them against.

I may just keep it and convert it into a pickup since I have the back wall section, new tinted rear slider window and new window seal. I just need to locate a decent longhorn bed and different axles and sell the NAPCO front end and dually rear.

It's amazing how some people say it's only worth "X" amount of dollars when they are wanting to buy it for dirt cheap, but then turn around and sell the same damn rig for their "gold" value prices.

So true If I kept it and I were you, I would do the same thing but keep the Napco stuff and have one bad truck

HA! This doesn't happen often enough. Someone posts a craigslist with nothing good to say, and the owner shows up here on the board. Amuses me lol.

How bout if you don't like something, don't bother posting it ... Kinda how the board rules are anyway.

Re: Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

That would be one heck of a hunting rig, as is.

I much prefer manuals over autos.

The CL ads states he wants to trade, not sell. What something is worth is based on one thing: what does it or things like it sell for. The "market value" as my car lot manager said.

Re: Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

That is a very cool truck, I love it. I hope you don't de-NAPCO it, that thing is just too rare as it is - but that is the beauty of owning one of our trucks, you can do whatever you like with it - the only person you need to please is the owner, you! I bet all the doomsday preppers are drooling over it right now, I know I am! I would LOVE to buy this truck if I had the $ lying around. Best of luck, it's a VERY cool truck.

Re: Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

I would either make it a '70s style hunting rig (ala Red Foreman)
or go Longhorn 4x4 .... maybe keep the dually rear too!

Re: Craigslist find (not mine) CST/C30 4x4

Probably most valuable left with Napco axles and with a longhorn bed. An axle swap is a lot of work to just devalue the truck IMO. There is a nice 71 GMC 4x4 in western oregon that would be much closer to what you need if you just want a 3/4 ton nice 4x4. I think he was at $4000 or so on the GMC and he is a member here. I will look up the info but I think there is a pending sale on it.
