Value /desirability ?

A friend of mine has been collecting parts to build a short box 4x4 for many years. I've been talking to him about possibly buying all his parts. We have a tentative price (not cheap).

The problem is that I have no desire to have a short box 4x4, so I would sell off the short box stuff to help me recoup some of my money.

Is there a market for rolling short box 71/72 4x4 chassis? I know a short box in itself is desirable, but have no idea what decent ones sell for these days. Yes I know they are worth what someone will pay =), but if I could get a couple of ball park numbers that would be cool.

Re: Value /desirability ?

CG I have been in the 67-72 4x4 hobby for 25+ years now and I feel a 70-72 swb 4x4 clean rolling chassis is worth $1750 to $2500 but, my idea of clean is far and few in between. Clean to me is not one rust pock mark. Last rolling lwb one I purchased was a little over a thousand and the last bare swb 4x4 frame was around a grand also. I have not seen one like it since. Also need to figure the condition of the axles. John
