1961 cab on 1965 frame

I need some information about putting a 1961 Chevy cab on a 1965 frame.

I know that the frames changed after 1962. I understand that the cab mounting point on a 60-62 cab are different than the mounting points on a 63-66 cab.

Who has done this swap and can help me with the specific changes that I need to make? Is it as simple as relocating 1 or 2 frame mounts on the 65 frame to meet the 61 cab?

Thank you all very much.

The rear mounts line up.
Bolt those down and you'll be able to see where the new front holes need to be drilled.
Pretty simple job.

Re: 1961 cab on 1965 frame

At some point I suggested a thread about this be put in the faq section, it should be there and have pics.
the rear mounts are in the same spot.
bolt them up, and you will see where to drill the floor for the fronts.

all these cabs will work on the different frames, and you just need to drill the right spot. the 63-66 did have some extra reinforcement around the cab bolt, , basically just a big washer welded to the floor pan.

interesting side note, my 66 2.5 ton truck uses the long style 60-62 mounts and mounts in their old location...

*** look at l.m.65 beat me with faster typing!****

-just use the 65 frame mounts, don't worry about changing those-
