Drop Spindle ID
I ordered a set of Western 72 drop spindles from POL. I'm starting to think they sent 63-70 spindles. When torquing the lower ball joint in I get to about 50 ft lbs and the top of the castle nut is below the cotter pin hole. Anyone know what measurements I can take to determine if I have the correct ones?

Very typical on aftermarket spindles, put a thick flat washer under the nut and it should line up.

So revisiting this I used a thick washer on the lower ball joint and it did the trick. Now the upper ball joint isn't even close. I tried a different upper just to verify it was right and have the same issue. When I tighten the upper ball joint nut I am way past the cotter pin hole and I'm not even putting any torque on the nut at this point. I've used two very thick washers and I'm still not even close. Any idea on what's going on?
