Color of Cheyenne emblems

I have been refurbing old cheyenne emblems ins anticipation of eventual body and paint work on my 75. The old ones i bought had a sort of mustard yellow color on them for the CHEYENNE and BLAZER lettering. I duplicated this with a color match of auto paint but then got to thinking:
Q : Was this mustardy color originally the GOLD color that Chevy now uses for their emblems and the metallic bit has disappeared?? OR am I OK with a plain yellowish / mustardish auto point?

Re: Color of Cheyenne emblems

I think the mustard color is correct, not 100% though.

Re: Color of Cheyenne emblems

Thing is all the originals I've seen are a mustardy color, BUT it could well have been gold 40 years ago. So hard to figure out.

It is not gold. I believe the name of the color you are looking for is ochre.

Re: Color of Cheyenne emblems

Caterpiller yellow is almost a dead match, or farm yellow industrial in the aerosol can, have used this alot on many emblems and matching up 77 trim.
