Ignition Cylinder Help

Need to replace it don't have the key to it got stolen.Is that the original one it came with or been changed before I bought the truck witch was many years ago.Any suggestions or best way to get it out any help thanks.

Straighten out one end of a large paper clip; insert into one of those 2 holes in the 2nd picture which indicates the cyl has partially moved a bit out(toward you) already; rotate "wing" ccw & center cyl should slide out. If it doesn't wanna cooperate, try 2nd hole & do the same. **When you insert the clip, push slightly & you should feel it depress a spring-loaded "tit" which is the release.

And to answer your other Q . . that looks exactly like the replacement ignition cylinder I bought from Napa auto parts.

The one my truck had when I bought it was flat, no raised portion where the key goes in.

I am pretty sure you need the key to get the tumbler out right? the front bezal that the key goes through will pop out with some help. (it's not made to come out that way) then unscrew the ring. anyway thats how i did mine. anybody know if there is numbers on switch that you can see? If not take your door handle off and remove the button, there will be a code # there. take that # to a locksmith they can make you new key's. good luck

I have been waiting to see how long it took for someone to realize that you have to have a key in the lock cylinder to remove it with a paper clip .... NO key code on ign. cly. YES code on door lock BUT looks like the ign. cly. has been changed before so the door code wont do any good

You can get a new ignition cylinder, and have it keyed to match your doors ( or vice versa)
One issue with that, tho minor:
My ignition cylinder apparently ame from china, and used a key blank that was not quite a match with the correct chevy key blank . . the chinese key could not be made to work in the OG door locks, but the locksmith WAS able to ut a correct chevy key blank to work in the chinese ignition sw. So I had the igniton keyed to be the same as the door, and had him make 2 fresh keys for me, and I am sittin happy.
