DIN radio opening, desire shaft radio

Previous owner left a single DIN chassis cut out of my 68 C10 Fleetside pickup...and I'd like to go back to a shaft radio that is retro looking with some of the new features. What kit/template would allow a shaft radio to fit in the DIN "cage" left by the previous owner? I'm not really a fan of the USA4 DIN radio look...like the retro style. Thanks for the help....Katydude2000

either learn to like it or replace that part of dash. It kinda sucks, but that's all I can come up with

Some places do sell a patch panel for that part of the dash. It would require welding it in place. Kind of a big job, depending on who you ask/your talent level, etc.

This or a cutout from another dash is about it.

Bruce88 has a fantastic build thread with tons of information in it. It takes a while to get through, but if you read the whole thing you will be amazed.

One of the tips is replacing the radio panel section of the dash with very little welding compared to the repair panel mentioned above. You do need a donor vehicle for the new panel.

It is located on Page 10 of his Build Thread, post #236. You just can't beat this fix.

This is exactly what I am going to do to repair mine....

I am going to cut the hell outta my dash for a newer style radio. If I can get a double-din behind there....that's what I'll have.
