Question about 4wd spring hangers for those that have converted from 2wd
Hey guys, is there any difference in size/strength in the front spring hangers for the different series trucks? Also, will front spring hangers from 73-87 work on 67-72 trucks?
The reason I ask is LMC (yes, I know LMC's reputation) sells these, and I have a 1970 C30 I'm planning on a 4x4 conversion. My fear is that hangers from the 1/2 or 3/4 tons may not be as strong as what may have come on K30s in the later years. Here are some links: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=160 http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cc/full.aspx?Page=47 |

Go to Diy4x for spring hangers...you won't be sorry. ORD is good too.
Also, you could go to our parts classified and find hangers, too. I don't think there's much difference in the front hangers in the different series but I could be wrong.

I've been looking at Diy4x and there stuff looks great, but there kit is for running 52" springs up front. I don't know much about putting 52" up front, so I'm hesitant about getting that kit.

52 inch springs are longer then the stock front springs.People use them in the front because they flex more then the stock ones.Which is great off road but on like a daily driver i would think hard about the swap.

Also the 52 inch springs usually mean a 4 inch lift. I wouldn't mind a softer ride, but I can not deal with that much lift.
