Dually wheel dilema
So I just went out to make sure that the 16" wheels I picked up are going to fit the 74 14 bolt rear end. Thankfully I checked, cause they don't fit. they hit the back of the drums and won't go back far enough. So question is what would fit this thing? The original two piece wheels had 15.5 inside diameter. Would a 16.5 fit? I hate to go that route trying to find tires for 16.5 but there's a set of wheels on craigslist near me right now for a decent price. I also have 4 tires for 19.5's but I haven't come across any near me yet.

Re: Dually wheel dilema
Check out the 14B bible thread on pirate.
I thought the 14B came out in 75 so I know nothing. |

Re: Dually wheel dilema
Are they a regular "budd" wheel?

Re: Dually wheel dilema
No, they are a hub piloted wheel. Or hub-centric if that's what you want to call them. The 14 bolt out of the 74 had lug nuts with washers built into them. Just like securex lug nuts on trucks. They didn't have any taper to them and the wheels have no taper. I'm on the hunt for 19.5's to for it now. I have 4 good tires already. Just need two more and six wheels This thing has been a neverending money pit so far. Especially for something that isn't going to be used much. Sigh. Point of no return now though, gotta keep plugging along.
