67 gmc field find. Nice patina

Went and got this one from north dakota yesterday. Pretty solid truck, but not perfect by any means. V-6, power brakes and power steering. Will get it cleaned up and see what we have. Been sitting quite awhile.
Enjoy.

Fine looking 67 GMC truck. Not many around. Looks good with most of it's original parts including trim. Looks pretty straight to. Can never have too many. LoL. Looks like it's missing it's tail gate. Might be a little difficult to locate a 67. The GMC lettering is smaller on a 67 gate. Great score. I love these old trucks.

305 V6, 4 spd, small back window, power breaks, chrome front bumper, cigarette liter, not sure if the radio is factory? Defiantly had some option. Almost missed the power steering and factory gages! Cool old truck. I like it! Even has two of it's original hub caps.

Sure that one didn't come from southwest Kansas! Years ago me a buddy was looking at a GMC, just exactly like that, parked in a open field on a bluf. The home was about a half mile away down the bluf. We were standing their looking at the truck and some guys comes out on the porch and start unloading a shot gun our way. Talking about slinging gravel, dukes of hazard had nothing on us in that scene. Never forget that...

Wow every time I hear someone say "V-6" in one of these trucks I assume they mean "inline 6"...so GM actually had a V-6 in 1967..??

I'm such a chevy fan and so surprised to have never bumped into one before.

I don't think Chevy every used the 305 V6 in any of their C 10 20 30 series trucks. Strictly a GMC thing. Lots of low end torque. You would see them in C 40 50 60 's series big trucks and dump trucks. They did offer them in GMC C 15, 25, 35 series but not that popular. GMC used them in the early 60 ’s models.

That would be a sight to see. This was a dakota truck its whole life.

GMC used the v-6 until 69. 305 or 351 CI

Re: 67 gmc field find. Nice patina

Didn't get too much done today on it. Cleaned up the tailgate which i am pretty sure was taken off shortly after the purchase when new. It is VERY nice. Joesjunk would like this one. Also cleaned out the inside of the box and was pleasantly surprised. Doesn't look like it ever hauled much and not very rusty...

Perfect candidate for a factory restoration. Its all still there for reference matching. Appears to be Terrace Blue, a GMC only color, has a nice tu tone contrast with off white cab and wheels.

Re: 67 gmc field find. Nice patina

Nice old GMC! must have been a camper hauler, some of the best survivors out there. I have that exact tailgate. My first thought was "I have just the tailgate that truck needs" (not that it could be pried from my hands). I'm glad you have one. Does it still have the buddy buckets? I can't quite tell in the picture

NICE!!! I've always thought it was crazy how one side of a truck can "patina" so much more than the other side... I know how it happens, it's just cool to see how mother nature can affect the same truck so differently depending on what direction it's facing!

Yeah, with more foresight, the owners would have known to alternate parking direction so 40 years of sun & weather would age it evenly. Some people... only worried about here and now...sheesh.

Most of the western trucks I've bought with woodgrain trim had one side faded badly and the other side still great from being parked under a car port. I figure the open side faced west and got the hottest evening sun on a low angle. My '72 I have now is that way.

Eric,
Nice buy... Love that gate too! Just think it gives you 2 trucks. One look from the drivers side and another on the passenger, depending on if your driving to or from the store! Lol
