1963 alluminium grill questions
I'm in the process of restoring a 63. I have a very straight aluminium grill and nos set of headlight trim rings. I want to make the grill shines more so should I remove the anodizing and get to polishing it or should I just get a steel grill chromed and sell this one? I'm not sure how long the grill would keep its shine and I'm not confident that if I clear coat it the clear would not start to peal in a mater of time. The truck is customized so I'm not worried about keeping the original grill in the truck. Does anyone have any experience with this and is anyone re chroming steel grills??

Re: 1963 alluminium grill questions
I stripped and polished my anodized side trim a few years ago. It still looks good to this day and I didn't clear it. It was a bit of work to strip it down and polish it but it was worth the effort.
Looks like you have a nice grille there. Greg.

Beautiful grille, if you want to sell it I could be a buyer!

Re: 1963 alluminium grill questions
Did some guy drop off the NOS headlight bezels last winter? Left them in a plastic bag hanging on the door to the garage?
1963c10 has a thread on the process he went through on a 63 grille.
