Picked up a Packard this weekend. What other rides do you have?
I'm sure this has been covered before but I was curious what some of you other 60-66 enthusiasts have in their car/truck collection?
I picked up this 1952 Packard this weekend. I bought a 07 Cobalt to flip and buy more c10 parts but this old man was willing to trade me straight up for this Packard. I only had $2,000 in the cobalt so I couldn't pass it up. Since my panel truck isn't done I got to cruise the Packard this weekend. I also have a 48 Jeep CJ2A (was my grandpa's), 63 bodydropped panel truck, 91 F150 (daily beater). Bikes I have a 73 Cb350 and a 96 Harley Chopper What do you all have? |

Sweet Powermaster Franky! That thing bagged or just static? I think I'm going to cut a few coils and add some blocks to my Packard to get it sitting right. Wouldn't mind bagging it but I think I'll hold off for now.

Re: Picked up a Packard this weekend. What other rides do you have?
I guess I am kind of a junkie as well.
The stable currently consists of a 1965 C10 LWB (current project over in the builds area), 1980 Yamaha XS650 (full restoration), 1999 Ford Mustang (beater car to drive to work), 2011 Ford Fusion (wife's work car), 2010 Keystone Copper Canyon Fifth Wheel, 2011 Ford F-250 4x4 Powerstroke (tow vehicle for fifth wheel), and a 2013 Ford Mustang convertible (wife's fun car). I recently sold my 1968 Ford Fairlane to fund the other projects (car was stupid fast especially with manual brake and steering). Here are few pics of some of them. |

I have a 06 Chevy Duramax Crew cab, 67 Chevelle Pro-Street, 67 Nova altered wheelbase (under construction) drag car, 71 Nova 4 door, 81 Chevy 4X4 (leave at the mountain property), 63 GMC shortbed (just starting project), 79 3/4 ton parts truck, 80 1/2 ton parts donor for 63, 66 Chevy longbed (wrecked, now parts), 06 Honda VTX 1800CC.
Writing it down makes it look kinda bad, I think we need to start our own 12 step program.

Re: Picked up a Packard this weekend. What other rides do you have?
'63 Grand Prix. Every available option, including power windows, power vent windows, remote trunk release, AM/FM. Base powertrain (389 4 bbl automatic). This car cost $5300 in 1963 (more than most Corvettes) and was apparently given to the purchaser's son as an early Christmas present.
I actually went out and found this one and bought it (which is unusual usually they find me )

Re: Picked up a Packard this weekend. What other rides do you have?
...and, lastly, here is the "queen":
1965 GTO: this is an early production Pontiac built factory race car delivered to my dad specifically for him to race through Royal Pontiac. Black/black, 389 tripower 4 speed, manual steering manual brakes. Delivered with the hood inner already cut for a ram air system and with the battery mounted in the trunk. Raced in B/Stock in 1965 and B/MP from 1967 through 1974, the car is a multi time local class winner and 5 time NHRA record holder (12.20 ET best). Stored since 1974 Dad's GTO has 4900 (four thousand nine hundred) original miles and is in original unrestored condition ("born with" paint, interior, driveline, etc) and has been featured or mentioned in quite a few enthusiast books and magazines. The photos below were taken at what remains of the delivering dealership, Royal Pontiac (400 N Main St in Royal Oak, Michigan) on Father's Day a couple years ago. K

I bought 29' 2dr coach a few years ago. She's gonna sit in the back burner for a few more years while I collect parts. Wood is in amazing shape.
