Long story but this is going to be my 4th and final bed for my C-10, I think proportion wise its going to be just right ,,here is a link to my progress Jim

I thought about doing a mid length bed a couple of years ago. I was going to do it dimensionally right in between the long bed and short bed. What are the dimensions you are going for? Looks good so far.

Hi Nick,, I just took 12 inches out of the front, the bed is right at 7 foot now,I thing the stock short is another 8 inches shorter out of the back

Cool, cool. I like it Jim. Yeah I think it is 12" in the front and 8" in the back, right? I printed off the procedure that Kevin (rockcrwler) did a few years back on low buck. I ended up buying some used shortie bedsides, but haven't cut my frame yet. I will one day.

I like what you are doing there. You get the same wheelbase as a short bed, but a longer bed and more room for a rear tank and a safer install on a rear tank further away from the end of the truck.

And maybe room for a spare tire well behind the rear wheel. Maybe one off a suburban or an old wheel well turned upside down.

Taking 12 out of the front and nothing out if the rear reminds me of the 61-65-1/2 d100's. The first sweptline beds had the tail real long and then shorter up behind the cab. Very nice job shortening the bed jimcaf.
I've always wanted to see someone do something like 6" in the front and 6" in the back, if the work was done right it would be hard to really tell if it is really a swb or a lwb

I dont have a strait on side shot but as it sits now the box is almost the same length as the cab.

Does look good, though I think you need to make sure you maintain some forward rake. I think sitting flat it might look awkward.

Willys that truck is how they should have built them all IMHO. I really like the look of that,great job.

I think it does look pretty good. It is pretty deceiving, but the cab is actually longer than a normal long bed. You wouldn't think that but it is. Good job!
