Lower control arms

Can the 73-87 upper and lower control arms be bolted on the 63-66 cross member or do you have to change the whole cross member out?? Thanks Jeff

Re: Lower control arms

Short answer is yes.

If you look in the FAQ, post #4, it has all the suspension questions links that will tell you everything you need to know.

Re: Lower control arms

I read a whole bunch in the facts but I guess I didn't comprehend that exact answer. Thanks.

Re: Lower control arms

It is a good idea to upgrade to the larger '73-'87 lower control arm U-bolts while you're at it. The stock '63-'66 U-bolts have been known to break. I have had 2 break and been lucky that it happened while driving slow.

Re: Lower control arms

It's for a friend and I've already told him about the Ubolts, I just wanted to make sure I didn't steer him wrong. I tried to talk him into doing the whole thing but he just wants to do control arms. Thanks
