Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
I'm interested, and shipping can be handled, but can you answer a couple of questions: Will this bell housing use the motor mounts on our trucks, or does it need a trans cross member? Does this have a mechanical or electrical speedometer output? Do you have the receipt from the work done by the trans shop? Thanks, Ken

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
No it was rebuilt when i bought it and i didn't get you can pull the cover off and see its all new.It has a VSS electronic speedo hook up.I was going to use a converter or a electronic speedometer .The gps speedos are nice also .You could always change the main shaft also.I was going to use a trans cross member this is a Lakewood bell housing and it has bolt holes that look like you could bolt it in our bell housing mounts if you wanted to .Hope all of the info helps .Oz

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
Here's a bump, I run this transmission in my '68 and love it, I haven't had a speedometer since I built it, what sort of converter box would you recommend? My father was looking at one while at a trade show back in 2009, but unfortunately passed away shortly after his return and I never took it any futher.

Check into the SpeedHut GPS speedometers. I used one in my '67 with an S-10 5 speed and it works really well. LockDoc

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
Thanks. Man, I wish you were closer I would love to have that setup for my '67 C-30 Dually.... I'm not sure how to figure shipping on something like that. Or even if it could be handled from this end. Do you have a "Fastenal" store anywhere near you? LockDoc

OK, thanks. I will check with my local (17 miles away) Fastenal on shipping but I won't be able to until Tuesday. I will probably need a weight estimate on the parts. If you sell it before then I will understand..... LockDoc

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
The trans is 195lbs dry and what ever the fly wheel and blow proof weighs you can google it or guess .Id think 250-300 would cover it .

Re: NV4500 overdrive 5 speed trans and bell housing
I'm curious about the packaging/palletizing and cost to send via Fastenall. Can you provide details? I filled out a form to ask about shipping a transfer case on the Fastenall site and never heard back...
