Is it possible to put a big block in a low hump cab 2wd? I was just wondering. My engine took a s%$t and I may have a chance to get a big block. JIM

i thought the hump would only effect the tranny. i probably dont know much though. lol.

The only effect should be from the Tranny if the engine is in the V-8 position.

From whats been said here before, yes, if it is up front instead of in the I-6 position...and it may be kinda tight.
Highboy, the big block is a bit taller which raises the front of the tranny up a bit needing a bit more clearance, that is why big block trucks had hugh hump trannys.

I have an original 69 2 wd frame with 396/th400. Cab was a low hump. You just need to mount the big block in the forward mounting holes of the front cross member. It is predrilled for this application. Bring on the BB !!

There were some made like that, just like my V6/TH400 GMC...with a high hump. No one can explain it.

This is a low hump 71 that had a t350/350 combo.....it now has the ZZ502/T400. No mods....no clearance problem

I put a big block in my 72. It was originally a small hump 350/th350 truck.It now has a 71 402 and a 700R4 using the small block engine stands...
