Re: My Texas 64

The wood for my bed is 1" rough saw planks. Cleaned out an old barn and the boards were laying across the rafters . I just trimmed the edges and used metal strips. Tried to fix the old fender tubs but wound up buying new ones. I plan on rigging up a clean gas filler lid.

Re: My Texas 64

Worked the body sorta straight.
Primer- wet sand and block.
Wiped on some black single stage. ( really looked bad).
400 then 600 block sand.(looked better)
Shot white and then the stripe.
Blocked again until I was happy with black showing thru.
Matte clear.

Just have to get it back together
I used the Dupli-color paint

I have been putting trim on this week but the new repop clip set sucks! I've been digging the old clips back out!! Is this always the case with new clips??

Re: My Texas 64

Bed strips are just 1 1/4" metal strips with the wood notched. The wood is shelving from an old barn. In hindsight a wood kit would have been easier but it turned out ok....

Re: My Texas 64

Agreed, a wood kit would have been "easier"... But have you priced a wood bed kit lately? I'm loving your economical alternative!
