Poppa Smurf needs rust repair...

My 68 C-10 needs front and rear cab supports and inner & outer rockers. My question, is should I replace them one at a time or replace whole floor pan? Just kinda worried about cab flexing with floor removed and the fit of the floor pan. Thanks Kirk..

Replace the whole floor pan. It will look better instead of all patched up.

Depends on how talented you are... I had the entire floorpan in my 67 replaced... it cost me 900.00 in labor...

Re: Poppa Smurf needs rust repair...

I disagree, unless the main floor has a ton of rust. I've done a couple complete floors in these old trucks and it's a lot of friggen work. Not to mention it can be tough to get the aftermarket floor fit and finish just right. Floor supports, rockers and cab corners are all pretty easy on these trucks if you take your time and make sure everthing fits and lines up right before you weld it solid. No sense in replacing the whole floor if only the areas you mention are shot. Just my opinion, probably not worth much...

Re: Poppa Smurf needs rust repair...

If the rest of the floor is good, I'd just repair the rusted areas. A picture would be nice, however.

Re: Poppa Smurf needs rust repair...

Thanks for the replies, pics coming soon (once I figure it out). Cab is off the frame and mounted on a homemade rotisserie. If I do the complete floor pan, which brand do I use, Dynacorn, AMD, LMC ??? Thanks again Kirk...
