Bolts

Researched, Googled, Binged and looked in the FYI section and I can not find a source/vendor that sells certain bolts for my 62. Specifically, I'm looking for bolts for the door hinges and the three large bolts that attached the fender below the cowl and at the bottom of the fender in front of the door. I'm not trying to go concourse but I do like the look of the flanged hex bolt and I'm not finding them being sold by themselves. Would truly appreciate if someone knows of a source and what the exact part numbers are!

Re: Bolts

no scrap yard in your area?
I always pull the door bolts when I get a chance, since the fender ones are usually rusted pretty bad.

Re: Bolts

They do have stainless bolts for the door hinges, available in kits. I just redid mine in my 61 but for the life of me, I can not remember where I found them. It would either by LMC, Classic Parts or Classic Industries. Dig around, you'll find them.

Regarding the larger fender bolts, this is a standard thread. Unless you're building an exact reproduction, finding bolts to fit should not be a problem. In California, Orchard Supply Hardward usually has these...

Re: Bolts

Thanks everyone for the ideas/suggestions. I was able to find a source for the 3/8-24x1" serrated hex head flange bolts and they should be arriving next week. The other one though is a ghost. To be sure that I'm looking for the right bolt, is this the correct description of it: a 3/8-24x1-1/4" SEMS hex head flange bolt with dog point? More than half of mine are in good shape but there are a few that have seen better days. I've got a bid in now at the evil online auction site for a set of hinges that I don't need but comes with the necessary bolts to complete my set. Now onto my next project which will be sourcing out all the parts need to convert to power steering. Cheers!

Re: Bolts

I discovered that you can buy the exact 3/8-24 x 1-1/4" flange nut with dog point from the Filling Station. They are listed, strangely enough, as hinge bolts. I ordered and received them and they are exactly like my original bolts for my 66. The bolts were $2.00 each.
