Re: Bed to Cab alignment help

Which areas are you correcting? To fix the body lines on the side of my truck I'm not able to use the 1/4" rubber cushions on the front bed mounts but have to shim the back ones up 1/2" or so. Kind of similar to what you are describing.

sounds like the same problem you have, I should of posted better photos but ran out of light,
The gap between the bed and cab ,without the 3/4 inch spacer in the far back bottom of the bed it almost touches the cab on the bottom and I have about an inch up top.. Appears that 3/4 is going to remedy it but just seems odd..thanks jim

Worn out can mounts could affect this too.

Re: Bed to Cab alignment help

When I did mine I learned that the bed came metal to metal on the frame, no rubber pads. Only the wood floor beds had rubber pads. Not saying this is 100%
True but that's what Brothers told me.

Did you put all new mount? Do you have the correct mounts for your truck?
C10,s are different from C20's & 4x4's !

Re: Bed to Cab alignment help

What has been changed on the truck? Cab mounts, radiator support mounts all have effect on panel alignment. If everything is new, check torque specs for each mount. Also make sure you have the mounts in the right place and order. The steel bed does not have rubber mounts although lots have been added over the years. You could also have a frame that has been tweaked over it's lifetime. You can use shims if necessary but check all the possibilities first. Good luck!
