Question about rims

When you see trucks going down the road with their wheels sticking out a small bit past the fenders, I'm just wondering how they do that, and has anyone did that to these trucks, cause I've thought about doing it to mine.

Just my opinion, I think it looks better with them tucked under the fenders. You can make them stick out by getting a rim with less offset.

Why????

Whenever I see someone who has their tires and wheels sticking outside the fender well, I start thinking "Skateboard". I guess that there is some school of thought that says it is "cool" to do that. What I believe is that they are putting such a strain on their suspensions that the rest of us are in danger on the same road that they're on. What happens when their upper or lower controll arms, or their strut suspension breaks due to the excessive stress that has been moved away from the center line of the spindles?

Usually, those vehicles are equipped with small diameter tires, on deeply offset (to the outside) wheels....like I said, like a skateboard. I can't see how the Indy Car Look is good for us....unless it is on an Indy Car.

I should start taking pictures of the Jeep Wranglers that I have seen with those wheels and small tires. Talk about a waste.

Plus if your wheels stick out on a 2wd and you're lowered you'll hammer the fenderwells. Some of my friends butchered their mini truck wheel wells back in the day when tucking the rims wasn't the thing to do.
