Looks like it has lots of potential. It's a lot better than some of them I have had. Good luck with your build.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
My best suggestion for you is to sit down with a piece of paper and write down EXACTLY what your vision is for your truck... Remember there is no wrong decision... Do not let anybody influence your build... Suggestions are one thing and decisions about those suggestions are always good... There are alot of guys on here with ALOT of GREAT information and I would encourage you to read as many build post as well as the message boards you will get alot of information there... Some great guys on here to get parts from are Cash3481 (deals alot in GMC), Teeitup, and some others... There are a few to definitely steer away from...
Stay focused on YOUR project... Buy your parts 1 time so research is of essence... I will be happy to answer any questions that I can just let me know...

Thanks Benner, Camp Sherman doesn't seem that far out there still west of the Cascade range I think or you're right up there. I bet it's nice.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
oh yea had to do something. I replaced the windshield and it wasn't too hard walking it all the way around with a rope and some dishwater soap. Too lazy to walk outside and take final pic on windshield install but will post more later along with frame paint photo and.... I will see you at the raceway in APril and August might even drive truck down and I don't mean Toyota.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
Here are some photos of one of the tach clusters I did. Yours will not look much different but will not have a tach and will have the correct black and chrome bezel for a 67.
Hope this helps. Thank you. You are doing some nice work on the truck. Take care, Tom

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
Time to update this rolling project. Significant accomplishments: Installed 400 small block (kept original 250)...Got the cab floor all signed sealed and delivered with epoxy primer to include left & right areas cleaned up and replaced to include inner/outer rocker panels...
Had rear crossmember straightened after breaking umpteen drill bits getting it out..... fixed big dent on outer cab rear wall with stud puller (awesome tool)...... Welded patches on core support, fenders, dipped doors and grille in acid bath........ Spent a thousand hours welding/ finishing front grill (bought donor grill from junkyard to fix inner curves) I bounced around different areas throughout summer but now it's getting nasty out and I'm getting lazy.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
It's cramped quarters in this one car (if that!)garage but I'm glad I have that anyway. Not sure about doing my brakes and suspension in here though.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
The Handy MIG has been real handy...I'll have to get my spousal unit to help me put in the vintage air conditioner. I need her to start bolt from firewall side while I'm inside cab maneuvering unit, ....
I'm wondering if I should take out kick panel right vent handle?

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
Last round of photos for now until I get my butt back in gear and spend some $$$ for dash instruments etc., that's after paint anyway... Brakes/Suspension is next but to finish it off I might have to get some help in one form or another locally. I already have a new fuel tank to put in under bed as well along with new wiring, stay tuned for that one....I guess it never does stop..Thanks for checking it out!

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
Oh yeah it was terrible, the "G" had little or no bottom. The rusted out grill I used as a donor had those rust dimples but I was able to smooth it out. You can follow the Filler in this photo to see where I welded. I forgot to take photo right after I welded in piece.

Re: 67 GMC Stepside PROJECT: TEXAS FARM TRUCK
I plan on keeping original steering wheel and add power steering. Do need new shifter and the shift indicator.
