Which of these colors should I paint my truck?

#1: Blue/white with moldings would be the most expensive. White letters on tailgate. I really like the wheels/caps on the truck in the picture. Incidentally, mine is a C/10 Custom Deluxe. Does anyone know if these came stock with two tone and moldings? At worst I suppose they could have been special ordered. Not really sure.

#2: Blue, white top, white letters on tailgate. I wont have the black Tonneau cover, so it may not look quite as nice as the one in this picture.

#3: Orange, moldings, White letters on tailgate. The bonus of orange is I'd like the interior color much more. Something about blue paint on the interior doesn't strike me. Sure makes for a beautiful exterior though.

Thank you for any input. This is tuff.

Number 2 is the one I like but I am partial to blue. My opinion is the moldings make them look to busy. I sure like the two tone.

Hugger Orange Has my vote. I like the third pic and I really like Hugger with a white top and white between the mouldings.

Re: Which of these colors should I paint my truck?

I like the blue with white stripe and the Orange. Kinda partial to the Orange as that's what color I painted mine. Been thinking about putting a white strip down the side like the blue one then pinstiping fake trim.
I'm not feeling the solid blue one for some reason.

I like #1. I like the moldings with the two tone paint.

First off, no 67-72 Chevy pickup came "stock" as a two-tone. Like most things it was optional at all trim levels.

The scheme in picture #1 is the Deluxe Two-Tone with a white roof and white between the optional upper and lower (black stripe) bodyside moldings.

As a Custom Deluxe the white would have been painted over the blue leaving blue letters on the tailgate between the upper and lower tailgate moldings (No Band!).

This is a correct stock paint scheme, Conventional Two-Tone, including the white letters.
To further enhance it you could add the D89 double pinstripe, in white, that runs along the same line as the upper/belt bodyside molding.

The belt and lower bodyside moldings were stand alone options so either alone on the truck is correct even on a solid paint truck.
Either includes the taillight trim and both tailgate moldings.

You could even run both upper and lower bodyside moldings keeping the blue between them with only a white roof. This also correct and often seen.

Both of the oranges look great the 516 orange or the pictured 524 Hugger/Red-Orange. Either work well as a solid or a Two-Toned scheme. In any event the interior sheetmetal, to be correct, should be the same color as the exterior body (primary) color.

There are a number of pictures on this thread that should help clear up any questions.

As far as which to paint your truck that is a hard one. I prefer solid paint trucks! To me 510 Meduim or 523 Dark Blue as a solid look great. They also look great paired with white as a Two-Tone. But they were also offered together as a Two-Tone Blue over Blue.
Here are two charts for a color series I am working on that might clarify that. One is the 510 based variations and the other is the 558 and 559 codes illustrated as a graphic.

Hands down the Hugger Orange is a brilliant color that stands out (not always a good thing!) and either orange would be a go for me as well. Both also look very good in the Deluxe Two-Tone scheme. There is even a Custom Two-Tone of Hugger Orange and a Black roof if you really want to be different.

If there is a specific color and scheme you would like to see a picture of ask, I probably have it in some form.

I like #1 color combo but with the Hugger Orange/White two tone. But of the ones you asked about #3 is the winner for me.

Re: Which of these colors should I paint my truck?

If it still has all the holes for the body side trim, it my be expensive to get them filled the right way. I'll be going back to the side trim when it's time to paint mine.

Re: Which of these colors should I paint my truck?

Having grown up in a small town where the Gas Company for most of the northern part of Illinois had it's fleet, most of which was sold off in our town, all painted like #2 (hundreds of blue and white 67-72s, mostly Suburbans in a town of only a couple thousand). I vote for either of the other 2. I've seen enough blue/white top 67-72s to last a lifetime.

Though I gotta say, as we approach the holidays, everyone had these old trucks as kind of the family mule, and when Christmas came around they were all in service getting trees. Where as the rest of the country blue and white in December meant Hanukkah in my home town it meant Christmas.

Re: Which of these colors should I paint my truck?

I would go with #2. I will do something of similar shade only in green. I have half a dozen colors in mind and will get a piece of sheet metal and paint them all along side the colors I have chosen for the interior. Then pick and choose. In the end, pick what makes you happy.
