WTB - Heater Box with out AC

Looking for the heater box that sits in the engine compartment without AC. I have mine apart and the metal air flap is complete rusted out. Looking for one in good condition.

No, I'm going to pass on this one. The metal piece in the center is in no better shape than the one I have. I know - it may be hard to find a better one.

Re: WTB - Heater Box with out AC

I have a box removed from a 40,000 mile blazer problem is the parts are nice but there is an ear broke off of it. If you box is in good shape I can remove the pieces you need and ship them to you that way I was looking at it the other day if I remember right some of it bolts in and other pieces pop rivet in. Let me know if interested and I can get you pictures.

Re: WTB - Heater Box with out AC

I've got one I just took out of an 84k mile c1500 last spring. Was working when I removed it and it's in great shape, no rust and a clean heater core.

I removed it to install a Vintage Air system.

Let me know if you're interested

I'll take $70 and the ride. Won't be able to get you shipping info until after the holiday. Let me know if that works.

Re: WTB - Heater Box with out AC

I hate to put a lot of money into this as in 2 summers, I too will convert to Vintage Air or one of their competitors.
Z10 - Let me look at an estimated shipping so that I have a ball park
70Blackfish - can you post a picture of yours
1rippen6 - your option sounds good - as all I need is to replace the rusted out metal part. Can you post a picture and what you would want.

Re: WTB - Heater Box with out AC

I will go with irippen6's solution. It will definitely fit in a medium flat rate box - I just a took a box out and checked. If you use a regular box it will be cheaper than flat rate. But I won't argue over $5. I noticed that our post office only stocks the flat rate boxes. Just drill out the rivets and I will put in screws. It will get me thru 2 winters and then I will install AC.

Z10 - you have a beautiful unit and you ought to put it on ebay or on this board and sell it. New boxes without the fan/motor and heater core go for around $250 on ebay.

The rod that holds the flap on does it just tap out? Don't want to damage anything and never removed on before

Re: WTB - Heater Box with out AC

Attached is a picture of the flap. The second picture shows two tabs. I pushed in on the inner tab and then slide the outside tab to the left and it popped right out.
