Newer Booster on older truck

How I installed power brakes from a '74 truck to my '71 1/2 ton. Got a good deal on booster from wrecked '74 and with a few modifications now have super stopping power on my 25' boat pulling 1971 Chevy.

Had to drill couple new holes in bracket.

Shift lever was in way of booster...had to cut piece off.

Nice work on getting the booster on and the brakes working. Ron, here is thread that describes the way most guys lengthen the pushrod for the booster with a threaded steel coupler.

Sorry about that Ron. Here you go.

That picture of the pushrod is the first one I've seen like that. Most guys just use the pushrod that came with their booster and use a threaded coupler.

Re: Newer Booster on older truck

I may not of done it the correct way but my trucks now loves the way it can keep the boat in tow and I don't have to worry that we won't be able to hold it back or stop where we chose. What a difference the power brakes made.

Love my truck even more now knowing it can handle the heavy load. Thanks for looking...
