Do our trucks have a headlight relay or are they wired through the switch?
By our trucks......I mean like my 1984 1/2 ton
Thanks

I'm pretty sure "our trucks" never had relays for the headlights (which is why the switch is such a big mofo). It sucks but can be easily corrected with 2 Bosch-type closing relays (My truck had the relay conversion done but i redid it with 2 dual relays).
Connect pin 30 to constant positive from the battery, 87 to the headlights' positive side from the relay, 85 to ground and 86 to the old headlight wire coming from the headlight switch (dimmer switch). Do this with both the high and low beam wires and you'll be really impressed. I removed all of the stock wiring(except park lights) from the headlights to the firewall but left enough to wire the 86 terminals in place, took about 6 hours total (would've taken less but i wanted it perfect)

Maybe you could do a write up? Sounds like a good idea and seems to me like it would make them brighter. I am planning on doing a conversion on the headlights so this would be really good for my truck.
