Dash light help
This light is wired into the harness behind the dash consol. It has a white holder and looks like is should connect to the back. The dash has been out many times over the years. It was obviously left disconnected during some previous project. All light sockets are currently occupied whether they should be or not. Could this be the park brake indicator?

That is the socket that illuminates your shift indicator on the steering column. It can be placed in any of the 4 locations that illuminate the cluster lighting.
It also has (the black tube) is which is a fiber optic that runs up th column to the shift indicator. If it is kink, it will not work. Hope this helps, Take care, Tom

That makes perfect sense. I converted it to a 4 speed about 20 years ago. It is left over from before the conversion. Bryan |

Do all 67-72 auto tilt columns use this form of shift indicator illumination?
Are there differences between the years and whether it was a standard or tilt column? |

That is a good question. I am not 100% sure what years have what but my simple answer is no. I believe some shift indicators do have a bulb at the indicator powered by a wire with battery voltage.

How do you tell if a truck had tilt originally? My C20 has that same bulb and socket, but a non tilt column.
