Plasti-Dip

Stripped the valve covers for repaint.
The plasti-dip came off the wire, and harness holders.
Has anyone reapplied the plasti-dip to these items?
I thought I would be able to lower the valve cover enough to immerse the holders in the product. That's too problematic.
I tried using an acid brush as a paint brush and painting it on a test piece, but that didn't work either.
If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I would appreciate it greatly.
Thanks................
