Am I working w/ a short bed or a long bed?

Yes, I know this is pretty high up there with dumb questions, but wanted to confirm so I can order the correct truck cover.

All I know is that my Dad says he recalls that you can't fit an 8' board without putting the tailgate down. I guess that means this is a short bed but wanted to confirm as visually (to me) the bed looks a bit longer that what I picture when I envision a short bed pickup.

thanks

It looks to be a short bed to me
Open the glove box door and look at the top of the label for wb = (wheelbase)
If it short it will be 115 in. and if it is long it will be 127 in.
You can also look ay the bedrail stake pockets A short bed will have 4 one at each corner the long bed will have 6 with 2 more over the wheelwells

And if it is a long bed, that 8' board will fit just fine with the tailgate up. Not sure, but what does a short bed measure -- 6 1/2 feet?

You are correct

Short Beds are typically 6 1/2 feet long.
Long bed: 8 feet.
Longhorn: 8 1/2 feet long.
Width between the wheel wells is usually 4 feet or maybe a hair more
