power steering options!!!
My next step in my project is to buy the power steering setup for my truck (67 GMC c15). I've looked into pulling parts off other cars/trucks and decided to buy new.
I've found at least four different options: Ecklers for $700: http://www.ecklerstrucks.com/chevy-t...1967-1987.html Tuckers for $625: http://www.tuckersparts.com/Power-St...t-F-PSK67.html Brothers for $800: http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...number=CPSK072 POL for $530: https://www.performanceonline.com/19...ONVERSION-KIT/ CPP for $699: CPP6772PSKS 1967-72, with CPP 500 Series box, kit $699.00 I think I also found a kit online for around $500, but can't seem to find that now. I'm planning on using a captain fab power steering adapter plate, since my frame isn't dimpled. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=332923 Here's my questions: 1. Anybody use one of these or a similar kit? If so, whats the good and bad? 2. What parts did you still have to buy, in addition to the kit? 3. Was it a pretty straightforward install? Thanks!

Re: power steering options!!!
I got the steering for my 65 at the steering store. The only thing I had to source locally was a double alternator pulley, and I used Capt. Fab's locator plate

Re: power steering options!!!
I just finished up a 3/4 ton no power anything to 1/2 conversion and knowing I will be installing a big block with a big cam I added hydro-boost power brakes

Re: power steering options!!!
get a box with the pitman from a 78 c10 , I believe its a direct fit swap , lots of threads on this board to help if you use the search button , I did mine complete for around 250 with a used box , and pump . It had the old power assist like the old corvettes had , leaked everywhere , the newer stuff is faster ratio and has much better "road feel"

Re: power steering options!!!
I think 78 has a quicker ratio 14.4/1 vs 17.5/1 (and metric fittings if memory serves), and I second the hydro-boost....
Several vendors even use a 12.x/1 in their rebuilt boxes, so if you go that route you will appreciate the lack of semi-truck like turning! |

Re: power steering options!!!
I would not use a spacer plate between the frame and the box. It messes up the center on the box just dimple the frame it's easy.
