94 4l80e into a 99 suburban

Hey guys, I'm looking at a 99 suburban 3/4 ton that a family member has that has a cracked transmission case. It is in really nice shape aside from this. I also have a 94 suburban 3/4 ton that I got for really cheap that has less than 20k on the trans rebuild. Will a 94 model work in a 99? I was told the cooler lines are bigger as well as the location is different but if I use the cooler lines and trans from the 94 will it work. I know the 4l60es have some years that won't interchange due to electronic differences. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 94 4l80e into a 99 suburban

It should interchange provided both transmissions have the same electrical plug and the 99 is not an LS powered burban as torque converters are different both in depth and stall speed.cooler lines are different on both ends on my newer trucks. You can go to O RIELLYS and get the correct ends to make the custom lines you need.
