Front hub selection question
I have been looking into a lot of post between here and Pirate. Or make asking the wrong search questions.
84 Chevy K30 CC Fleet side 454 T400 205 85 Front Dana 60 84 Rear 14 corp FF I am going to be doing a bit of towing and figure that a dually rear end will keep it on the road better. Found another 84 CC C30 dually. ?? Be then... rear is easy, drop the Dana 70 in the rear and swap the bed. As for the fronts, are the front hubs going to swap over easy for the use of the dually wheels? I see the seal and bearing are all the same, but will the manual locking hub system still work with the C30 setup or do I have to purchase a new hub? I see that the C30 has a dust cap for the bearing, if center boar is not large enough for the K30 axle setup can I just turn it in a lathe and open it up to allow for the manual locking hubs.

Re: Front hub selection question
If I'm reading this correctly you want to swap your single rear wheel aka srw k30 over to a dual rear wheel aka drw? You can use the c30 rear axle as long as its not a cab chassis. The front end parts do not swap though between 2 and 4 WD trucks. If you have a Dana 60 front you will have to find a set of dually d60 hubs for your your front axle. They are direct install use same bearings and lock outs. The swap has been covered many times its d60 srw to drw conversion. Good luck.

Re: Front hub selection question
Also fyi, single wheel hubs are worth alot more than dually hubs.

Re: Front hub selection question
Have the single on it now, will keep them. but with the dually rear, want to just bring one spare tire. Time for a local junk yard run to see what I can find.
Was not sure before taking all apart and then having to let it sit till the parts are found. TY, for the input.

Re: Front hub selection question
So you are trying to convert your 4x4 single rear wheel cc to a dual rear wheel?
Any idea of the ratio of your singles? I would like to swap my dually to a single...

Re: Front hub selection question
I have 4.10's. Already have the Dana 70 with the 4.10 setup and the bed and fender set.
Next is to swing by the junk yard and just pick up a set of front hubs. Was at the junk yard last week and they had at least 8 corp 14 bolt single in the yard for the rear with beds.
