What is this wire?

Looking at the location it looks to be possibly for the ECS? But the ground and plug is throwing me off.

Re: What is this wire?

Looks like the wire to the A/C compressor. Does it have what looks like a diode near the plug on one wire?

Is that an A/C compressor? If so, it might go that, kinda looks there's a dual spade male plug next to it.

Re: What is this wire?

In this picture you can see where the ground was attached in my original setup. Also note the electrical wrap around the plug. That's the was it was made. In the pic in my post above, the ground is on the compressor mounting bolt below and a little to the left. You can see the silver crimped end of the ground lug in the pic in the previous post.

FirstOwner69 your second pic is what I have. Never thought to look on the front of the compressor for the connection. Is the first pic the same truck? Wanting to get my A/C up and running before summer but have no idea when it last ran.

Same truck, different compressor and brackets. Both connections are on the front of the compressor. However, the new compressor in post 4 has the connection in a different clock position.

You can see the male terminals in your picture . It is right below the heater hose on the far right of the picture sticking out behind the pulley on the a/c compressor clutch
