c-10 stuff on a c20
I got the c-10 parts to put on my c-20. complete front end and rear end.
is there any thing i need to swap from my c-20 front end to the c-10 one to make it go on or will it just work.. including mounting, steering, brakes (booster and fittings), and whatever else the front end does , and driveshaft (i think the one that came with the c-10 will still work (they are both longbeds)) i dont know much about the front end and what stuff does or is called, so could you maybe tone done the tech. talk the new stuff came with lowering spindals, and 5 lug, and im guessing a 3.17 ratio (cause i spun the tire and the shaft spun about 3 times) so im hopeing to get better highway gas mileage and get my speedo closer to the correct ratio. i know i can get a new speedo gear, but also my engine has to run faster to do the same work because of my current tires. plus i'll have more options for wheels and tires when the time comes. well thanks Michael

I just got the frontend tore out of my 69 3/4ton the put on disc brakes,it was very dirty under there, after you pressure wash, I would go over all your bolts that you are going to take off with a wire brush to get all the threads clean then soak the nuts with WD/40 or someother good penetrating oil, that should help get them come off better.
I coud'nt believe how much dirt and crud was on the front suspension of that truck,I spent quit afew hours scraping the stuff off with a putty knife and wire brush. Bob

i found that out when i took the one off the parts truck, my arms where really back... i though i got the opposite of the michael jackson sickness thing...not the one with little boys but the skin color thing.
im thinking of just going to a shop and letting them take care of the front end and ill just do the back i might end up doing the back before i go to school and just drive with 5 lug on back and 8 lug up front with totaly diff rims that would be fun..but id get the better highway gearing. and save some $$$ to let pep boys or a near by rod shop to the fun front end.
