Greetings from So. Cal.
Hello Everyone, my name is Chris, and I recently joined the forums after I found this site looking for info about my truck. It is a 1970 C20 Fleetside Long Bed, she still has the original Engine and Trans. There is some body rot in the front quarters and the drip rails. When I am done with my pilots license, my goal is to do a full tune up from bumper to bumper, then possibly put patch panels and a full repaint. Anyway, thats it for now, have a great day.

It has been a strange day for me, the starter took a dump this morning, then when I went to close the hood after replacing the starter and 4 spark plugs... the hinge on the passenger side snapped in half. Aside from that, I took her for a drive today and it was awesome. The old girl needs some work though, a little background on my old C20 is in order.
My grandfather bought the truck in the early 70s, he was the first owner. It was his construction truck, but he always took care of it and he just outright loved the old girl. Just before he passed away, he transferred it over to me around 1999. I am one of many grand kids, dont know why I was so lucky. I drove it for years, then I started commuting and got a smaller car. After that my dads truck got stolen, and he started driving the 70. He passed away a month ago, and the truck is now in my possession once more (he drove it to my house the day he passed). My dad taught me how to work on cars from a young age, he had a Ford Model A, and then a 48 Chevy Truck so I started there. So, I will be using his teachings to get the old girl back in order. I don't plan on swapping the engine or trans, as they are original to the truck so I shall rebuild them. It has the 307, but I am not sure what trans came with that truck, however, I do think its a 3 speed auto. The rear end is a Eaton, but cant tell if a its a 52 or 72. So there is much homework needed to be done. With all the overtime I work, and a 2 year old, and flight school, it is hard to get the time together. Welcome to the board from Western Kentucky. I use to fly but have not in years. Nothing like the day the instructor gets out and tells you to make three take offs and landings. Man, those first solo flights felt great. Again, welcome.

Thanks sir, I have been to KY a few times. Paducah and Carlisle county areas mostly. Great scenery up there and I had a good time.
