Firewall Junction Box
Does anybody know where these green fusible links from this junction box go? The PO has really hacked the wiring in this truck. 1976 GMC K1500. Thanks in advance - Ryan

Re: Firewall Junction Box
You know mine had/has some like that. One was cut short like yours and the other to a brake controller. I'd say they are aftermarket? I just took off the cut one and trashed it..

Re: Firewall Junction Box
Those two fuse holders do not appear to be factory equipment. They probably went to some aftermarket accessories that the PO removed.

Re: Firewall Junction Box
I'm kinda thinking that same thing. The PO has done some pretty 'custom' stuff to this truck. Thanks for the replies. - Ryan

Re: Firewall Junction Box
Those are aftermarket inline fuses.

Re: Firewall Junction Box
They're not fusible links, just fuse holders. I have to agree, they aren't factory. Never seen the factory use green on the junction block, and they certainly don't use fuse holders.

Re: Firewall Junction Box
OK, so then should there be anything coming off this block? If not, then why is there in the first place?

But it serves as a power distribution point for factory options such as air conditioning, aux battery, HD trailer wiring, and such. And it also makes a convenient power distribution point for aftermarket accessories. |

Re: Firewall Junction Box
Thank you Ray. I'll lose the green wires and keep it in mind for any future accessories if any.
