1968 no a/c heater fan low-med-high slide bar location

Searched forums and internet, what I'm looking for is where the fan slide bar location should be on the different speeds? Mine are all the way to the right and very close between speeds where it's hard to adjust, with high as far to right it can go. Most times it does not stay in high and slips back to a lower speed. Is there an adjustment for this? They all work, just have to slide what I think is to far over to right to work.

Mine is or was too, and I have to say as far as I remember that's where they were back in the day, It worked but wasn't centered well with the switch. Mine at the moment is just a toggle switch. off on due to having put a couple flimsy aftermarket control cables on my truck and the wire bends up at the box lever. I'm thinking about modifying a lawnmower control line or maybe something off a tiller, they seem to be heaver than the one's I've picked up aftermarket. Now back to the subject I remember LOW at the left end of the switch Med was roughly in the middle or just after middle of the switch and HI was at the end of the slide switch. I think from the factory MED and HI were really close to each other no matter where that falls on your slide switch.

Is there an adjustment with the actual Heater Switch that the control arm connects to? Assuming that heater switch actually controls the speeds? My cable I bought new have only one area to secure to clamp which is not adjustable.
