Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
I have put a 1999 5.3 Silverado engine and trany into a 1972 Jimmie. From what I see the existing exhaust manifolds will not work without modifying the frame, from research on this website Trailblazer, Corvette, Camaro manifolds will work which is the best choice? Also I am dealing with relocating the A/C compressor, Kwik performance I think has that problem solved, sent them an email for more information. And finally I have put an Aeromotive fuel pump in the new gas tank I need to find a check valve to complete the fuel line.
I will post some pic soon, just put the rebuilt tub back on the frame. |

Re: Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
What do yo need a check valve for? Are you wanting something like a rollover valve? The pump itself "holds" as much pressure as needed, you don't need a 1-way valve on the fuel system.

Re: Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
The check valve is for the fuel system, I installed an Aeromotive fuel pump in the new gas tank and there is a supply, return and a vent connection on the pump And I assume it is to prevent a vacuum and not let the gases from the tank to get out.

Re: Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
OH you mean on the evap line? My bad, I thought you wanted a check valve in-line with the actual feed or something.
In that case, I've seen a few different things used. You can get away with nothing, but a breather or a PCV (ball-check) will work as a low buck solution.

Re: Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
I just left the evap canister connected to the tank.
I used the Hooker cast iron manifolds. They support 500 HP, and fit way better than any stock manifolds I've tried.

Re: Exhaust manifold; vent check valve
I pretty sure the tank is the same for the Suburban and Jimmy, I got mine from LMC and they list is for both. I do have to modify the tank spout a little it wasn't same as the old tank.
