really stupid question...need quick answer

for some reason my dad thinks an hei won't fit in my blazer because of fire wall clearences. I think he doesn't know what hes talking about. I'd like to prove him wrong. It will fit, right?

1. Do you have a SBC V8?
2. What position is it in?

If it's in the stock position then your dad is wrong, unless there's some huge-ass HEI I don't know about. There are some guys who sit their engines back in the rear position, and I can see that preventing much room...

1. yes it is a sbc
2. I don't know what position it is in I haven't changed it, how do I tell

Well, is the blazer a 4x4? If so, it'll be kinda tight, but it will fit.
If a 2 wheel drive, you'll have so much room you could fit 2 HEI caps in there.
The 4X4 is mounted back in the inline 6 position, but even so, it'll still fit with no mods (read; bashing) to the firewall.
