Cool Rally wheel question

Where can I tell the size of rally wheels with tires on? Thinking 15x8 but can't be sure and truck is not running to go to tire shop, and of course I don't have a jack handy to take it off. Where is the factory stamp usually on the wheel? As always many thanks in advance.

Re: Rally wheel question

Seems like I remember the numbers being stamped on the back side of the wheel when I painted my Rally's. The date of manufacture and the letters JJ? I think JJ means 15x8, but not 100% on that. Post a close up pic of your wheels and that should tell us.

Re: Rally wheel question

The ones from my van are stamped on the back, 15x6.5.

Re: Rally wheel question

Aren't all 6-lug, truck/suburban/blazer Rally wheels all 15x8? When you get to the 5 lug or van wheels, you get the smaller width ones.

The factory option aluminum wheels are 15x7, 6-lug of course.

Re: Rally wheel question

The 5 lug truck Rallys are 15x8 or 15x7. The van Rallys are 15X 6.5. My truck has 15x8.

Re: Rally wheel question

This is probably the moron approach (my way), and is harder to explain than do...
Picture 2 1x2s clamped by rubber bands on opposite sides of the tire.
Measure the width of the tire at its widest point, or the distance between the 2 1x2s.
Measure from the 1x2 to the outer bead seat. Do the same for the inner.
Subtract those measurements from the tire width and subtract 1/4" for the thicknesses of the wheel.
Round to the nearest half inch.

Re: Rally wheel question

I believe 15x8 rallys use the deep 3in beauty rings and the 15x7 rallys use the shallower 2in beauty rings.
