4 inch lift questions
With a 4 inch lift will I need a drop pitman arm all the kits I've looked at don't come with one but I wanted to make sure it's not needed

When I did my '77 years ago, I didn't install a drop pitman arm. I think it should have had one because of the bump steer that it had after the lift. You will also need to adjust the draglink out to center the steering wheel. This may not be necessary with the new arm.

I recently did a 4" on my 1990 K30 and I installed the drop pitman arm. The linkage is nice and level now. I would recommend adding the drop arm to your parts list.

Have people used a drop pitman arm for less than 4" - like with a 2.5" kit?

I have a 2" lift on my K10, and I did not use the drop pitman arm. It actually sits fairly high in the front end. More like a 3" lift. There is a little bit of angle to the drag link, but not enough to cause any steering issues. SO from my experience with my three lifts I have done, (second one on the K10) 2.5" lift and less you are fine without the drop pitman arm.

I have a brand new 4in. lift pitman arm that I don't need...
Yes you must run one or you will only be able to turn half way to the left, makes the truck underivable! |

It doesn't make it undriveable but it's not correct either. You can either use a drop pitman arm or a raised steering arm. You can use either one. But you should have one and not go without. It makes the geometry of the drag link incorrect. Puts undo stress on drag link and all that good stuff. It just isn't right.

In my experience it causes problems without I have a 4 inch lift and it causes steering to the left impossible I have to make 5 point turns
