66 PMD GMC Driver Build
I've decided to take the step in building a thread for my 66 GMC. My 66 has been getting me around for awhile and has been a semi dependable truck.
I replaced the broken 800 pound 305 V6 with a 65 230 GMC inline motor when I first got the truck. I have another build I would prefer to do first but for many reasons the 66 needs to be pushed to the front of the line in the "need to do list". So here is what's going on. I use this truck often. The fact that I need to use it means I'm going to need to do a different chassis/drivetrain so I minimize down time. The plan is a new freshly painted GMC trailing arm converted chassis, drop spindle and static coil spring front suspension and a one off, coil over/wattslink rear suspension. I have been thinking about using a static air spring setup but nothing is set in stone yet. I do have a 1 1/2 inch front sway bar and a 1 1/4 inch sway bar for the rear that I'll be using. I have a fresh 360 inch Pontiac motor that started life as a 350 HO out of a 69 firebird. A 700R4 transmission will live behind the 360 and I'm using a 3.54 Dana 60 out back. I'll be running 295/50/R15 radial TA tires in the rear and 215/70/R15 tires in the front. I have period correct looking wheels and caps with the exception of the rear wheels being 15X10 with a deep backset to keep the rear tires under the bed. I'll be repairing the minor rust and loosing the step side bed... I have no idea what color I'm going to paint this truck yet but I am definitely NOT going any shade of green or blue... And I also have no idea how to turn the before photo right side up... does anyone know how to flip the pic?

Re: 66 PMD GMC Driver Build
Looking forward to the build! I've always loved Pontiac motors and they are rarely swapped into these trucks.
