I want to move my fuel tank from the cab. is there a relocated fuel tank available that uses the factory filler ? I want to keep it in stock location. who has the best tank ?

Unless I'm mis understanding you, My factory tank had the filler incorporated into it. It wasn't removable if I remember correctly

Not sure I've ever seen someone move the tank to the back and use the factory filler. Mainly people use the bed floor or stake pocket

Why move it then? The only part that ever worried me was the filler neck anyway, if you're keeping that, keep the tank. Just my opinion. And shared by what appears to be the majority when this comes up every 2 weeks.

Now that's a new twist, remove the tank but keep the filler in the cab, I've been thinking about the same thing but mine would be a dummy just for looks. Well I've done a ton of research on this site and I think I've made my mind up of my plan of attack. I too want to remove my tank from the cab as well. It's makes my cab stink like gas and if I fill the tank gas slushes out when I turn. Not good anyway you look at it. I'm gonna order a tank from Boyd Welding with the roll over valve, sender unit and installation kit. I'll get the tank with the top filler and fill the tank through the bed. I too like the nostalgic look of the filler neck in the cab, I may keep it and cap it off internally and fix the cap so no one can manage to put gas in it. I did purchase a blank from LMC truck with an order the other day, if I decide just to weld the hole up and do away with it all together. I'm still thinking on a design cover hatch in the bed to access the fill on the new tank. I really like the look of the Boyd tank, I may even have them powder coat it black.

Funny thing is that is exactly how the right tank on my 75 D200 IHC is. The tank is mounted under the cab and bed like a 73 up Chevy truck. The filler extends right up through the cab coming out about the same height as a 67-72 Chevy. The left side is even worse. The filler is low behind the left front wheel just forward of the firewall extending down to the left saddle tank.

Ive read where the angle from the cab filler to the tank wont work for some reason. I think it becomes too level.
As for creating a foux filler in the cab ive seen how someone will cut the neck off and spider the backside of the neck to hold the neck in place. I saw the pics on a thread here about 5 months back
