To Goop Freeze Plugs Or Not To Goop?
So I have read articles saying do not put anything on freeze plugs when you install them and I have seen articles saying put RTV or some sort of gasket or calking material on them to ensure a good seal. Same goes for YouTube videos, some swing one way others the opposite.
I know this much, I installed my first steel freeze plug dry and it leaked. So I reinstalled the same style steel plug with some copper RTV gasket goop and it does not leak. So what do you all say/recommend? |
