Interior colour, looking for your opinion
Hey guys,
I am getting ready to restore my console and bucket seats. The truck is a 67 small window and is the original orange colour. I am debating between saddle brown and black. If I go black I would do black carpet, dash pad, visors, and door panels. Should I do the same if I go saddle? Such a silly thing to be stuck on, but I cannot make my mind up. Look forward to your advice! Mike |

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
I'd probably go black carpet, and the rest brown I say black carpet because it wont show stains as bad (but it does show fuzz)

I agree, not sure how the saddle would look with orange. My dad had a orange blazer as a kid and it had black interior I loved it.

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
Of those choices I'd vote saddle - what was the original interior color?

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
I vote for saddle. Here is a pic of my dads truck. I know it's not orange but it does have a saddle interior. Saddle dash pad, door panels, carpet, visors and saddle and black houndstooth seat.

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
I vote black.. You could also use a black and orange Houndstooth seat cover but i'd be concerned the orange paint and orange in the seat cover may be different shades..
Curious tho, would it look all that bad to have a saddle seat, door panels and dash pad to go along with with a black carpet, black dash and matching gloove box lid?? any photo shoppers out there??

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
I know it wasnt listed as a choice but how about white? A member on here had a pic of i think a green truck with white houndstooth and door panels, black console and carpet. It looked great. Just trying to toss in an option

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
What a response! Thanks guys, seems like a 50/50 split.
heavyD I have thought about white/parchment but I don't think I would be able to keep it clean enough. |

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
Black is nice but definitely the most common. I'd vote saddle. The saddle houndstooth seat cover like pictured above is one of my favorites.

Re: Interior colour, looking for your opinion
So I've made my mind up....going all black. Thanks for all the input.
But this is going to be a lot more difficult and timely than I thought. I bought these seats unseen with the word that they were rot free. The driver side is amazing....the passenger seat is well....take a look. It will need the whole bottom half rebuilt, I've never done this type of metal work so I think it will be a good time to try considering it will be hidden. I'm open to advice and suggestions on how to tackle this. My thoughts is to sand blast and use the good seat to make all the templates for the bad one, and lots of time and frustration |
